Business Foundation Course
Foundation studies focus on key world events and the way these events impact on businesses in the global economy. On the EBS London Business Foundation Course you will be coached in practical business skills, preparing you for the rigours of degree-level study and a university lifestyle.
If your present qualifications do not allow you to be admitted directly onto our BA (Hons)degree or you simply want to feel more confident about studying business with languages, you may enrol on our Business Foundation Course.
This is a full-time programme which prepares students for the degree-level studies offered at the European Business School London. Course modules are assessed by means of coursework assignments and examinations. You may also study a foreign language(subject to demand & availability).
Our Mission
The aim of the Business Foundation Course is to prepare students for entry into Higher Education, ensuring they possess the necessary knowledge, values, skills and competencies to undertake the BA (Hons) International Business with Languages & Major degree programme. The course is carefully designed to focus on the academic areas most useful to your future studies.
We place great emphasis on encouraging students to reflect on their learning, and to be increasingly self-motivated and self-critical, with assignments and examinations becoming progressively more challenging and demanding throughout the course.
Course Duration & BA (Hons) Degree Programme Entry
The Business Foundation Course is a one year programme, divided into two semesters. Successful Foundation students are guaranteed progression to the BA (Hons) degree course at EBS London*.
We do offer a fast-track route, which allows students to complete the course in just one semester. If you achieve a Distinction (more than 69%) or a high Merit (more than 56%) in all assessments during your first semester, you may progress onto the BA (Hons) degree without taking the second semester of the Business Foundation Course.
* Students must achieve more than 40% in all assessments to be considered for progression to the degree programme.
Small Classes & Personal Attention
We firmly believe in the value of working in small groups with a high level of personal attention. Concern for the individual is also reflected in our practice of providing personal advice and guidance, in both academic and personal matters. The Course Leader will assist you in your choice of a degree programme, individual modules and choice of specialisation, as well as helping with any personal issues.
Course Outline
The Business Foundation Course is made up of compulsory and optional business and language modules, with tuition and assessment for modules taking place during each semester.
You will study a total of 12 modules over two semesters (six in semester one, and six in semester two). Students will normally have up to 24 hours of contact time per week.
